[Update] Changes to Target-Based Bidding Strategies — August 17, 2026
What’s new: Google is updating its target-based bidding strategies to make campaign performance more stable and predictable, particularly for budget-constrained campaigns.
The update includes:
- More stable performance: Campaigns using Target CPA, Target ROAS, and other target-based bidding strategies will align more closely with the targets you set.
- Potential performance changes: Campaigns that are currently outperforming their targets may move closer to the specified target values after August 17.
- Campaign review: Advertisers are advised to review budget-constrained campaigns and adjust their targets if necessary.
- Flexible options: You can keep your current target, adjust it based on recent performance, switch to a different bidding strategy, or increase your budget to scale conversions.
[Update] Automatic “AI Info” Label
Meta now automatically labels ads created or modified using third-party generative AI tools.
- How it works: The system uses industry standards for detecting metadata, such as C2PA. If AI-generated content signals are detected in a file, the label is added automatically.
- Where it appears: Users can see the label by clicking the three dots in the corner of an ad and selecting “About this ad” → “AI info.”
[Update] Tax Changes for Meta Advertisers — August 2026
What’s new: For advertisers using monthly invoicing, the way taxes are calculated has changed in several countries.
Why it matters:
- Calculation based on the “Sold to” address: VAT, GST, and other applicable taxes are now calculated based on the “Sold to” address specified in the ad account.
- Countries affected: These include Australia, India, Canada, and South Korea.
- Impact on invoices: The changes may affect the amount of tax shown on advertisers’ invoices.
[Update] Creative Pre-review
- What’s new: Advertisers can now submit videos and banner creatives for review before officially launching a campaign (
/creative/pre_review/...). - Why it matters: This allows advertisers to find out in advance whether a creative is likely to pass review, helping avoid delays and rejections when the campaign goes live.
