  • AI Overviews: Personalized summaries highlight traffic anomalies, changes in sales, budget spend, and other important signals.
  • Ask Advisor: Users can interact with AI to explore the reasons behind changes in performance metrics in greater detail.
  • AI-powered dashboards: Google Ads can generate visual reports from simple text prompts and explain key trends. This functionality is also coming soon to Google Analytics.
  • Benchmarking in Analytics: Advertisers can compare campaign performance against anonymized averages from similar businesses in their industry.
  • The evolving role of media buyers: AI reduces the need for manual analysis, shifting the focus toward data quality, business objectives, and strategic optimization.

[Update] Changes to Target-Based Bidding Strategies — August 17, 2026

What’s new: Google is updating its target-based bidding strategies to make campaign performance more stable and predictable, particularly for budget-constrained campaigns.

The update includes:

  • More stable performance: Campaigns using Target CPA, Target ROAS, and other target-based bidding strategies will align more closely with the targets you set.
  • Potential performance changes: Campaigns that are currently outperforming their targets may move closer to the specified target values after August 17.
  • Campaign review: Advertisers are advised to review budget-constrained campaigns and adjust their targets if necessary.
  • Flexible options: You can keep your current target, adjust it based on recent performance, switch to a different bidding strategy, or increase your budget to scale conversions.

[Update] Automatic “AI Info” Label

Meta now automatically labels ads created or modified using third-party generative AI tools.

  • How it works: The system uses industry standards for detecting metadata, such as C2PA. If AI-generated content signals are detected in a file, the label is added automatically.
  • Where it appears: Users can see the label by clicking the three dots in the corner of an ad and selecting “About this ad”“AI info.”

What’s new: For advertisers using monthly invoicing, the way taxes are calculated has changed in several countries.

Why it matters:

  • Calculation based on the “Sold to” address: VAT, GST, and other applicable taxes are now calculated based on the “Sold to” address specified in the ad account.
  • Countries affected: These include Australia, India, Canada, and South Korea.
