Step 0. Collecting Campaign Data
Collecting campaign data is one of the most time-consuming parts of the reporting process. Specialists need to log into multiple advertising platforms, export data, standardize and filter it, and only then begin the analysis. The more tools and channels a campaign uses, the more complex and time-intensive this process becomes.
Even for a relatively small media campaign with a limited budget, a single report may include data from:

Our goal was to bring all metrics, KPIs, and advertising channels together in a single report built around one unified strategy, instead of evaluating media activities separately across different platforms. To achieve this, we developed our own software, reducing the reporting workload by an order of magnitude. All the required data is automatically transferred to a cloud-based database through the following workflow:
- BigQuery serves as the central data warehouse.
- Campaign plans and structures are imported from Google Sheets.
- Data from advertising platforms with available APIs is automatically transferred to the database.
- For platforms without API access, daily reports are automatically imported into Google Sheets and then synchronized with the database.
- In BigQuery, all data is standardized, mapped to the campaign structure, and used to generate reports.
- Thanks to the integration between BigQuery and Looker Studio (formerly Google Data Studio), all collected data is instantly visualized in a dashboard, providing both our team and our clients with a clear, real-time view of campaign performance.

Every day, our system automatically processes around 100 reports from 12 different data sources across 20 advertising campaigns, generating approximately 1 TB of data. Processing this volume of information manually would be slow, expensive, and highly inefficient. Today, our automation system reduces the workload by more than 10 times.
Traffic managers have access to real-time performance data for every audience segment and advertising platform. They can instantly monitor bids, budget pacing across Meta Ads and Google Ads, conversions, video completion rates, and other key campaign metrics.
Previously, consolidating campaign data and performing the analysis could take an entire working day. Today, reports are generated automatically every day, allowing us to monitor campaign quality on a daily basis. As a result, validating the collected data now takes around 15 minutes instead of four hours.

At this stage, it is essential to consider not only direct interactions with ads (post-click), but also delayed user actions, including post-view and cross-device conversions.
