MarTech adds a technological component that helps us make campaigns more effective and work faster. That’s why we support automation that makes agency processes faster and easier. Today, Data Analyst Dmytro Shylkin will tell us about Connor — the chat assistant.

Where the Name “Connor” Came From

The name of our chat assistant “Connor” has an interesting origin — it’s borrowed from the popular video game “Detroit: Become Human,” where one of the main characters is an android named Connor. In the game, this character goes through a development path from a robot to an almost human being who began to feel emotions and make independent decisions. The symbolism of this name in the context of our chat assistant reflects our vision of how artificial intelligence can become increasingly human-like and useful in the everyday work of the agency.

Who Connor Is

Our Connor — the agency’s chat assistant created based on GPT-4o-mini with an implemented RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architecture. The uniqueness of this solution lies in the fact that the bot provides two types of responses: taking into account the internal Knowledge Base of the agency, and without connection to the internal Base.

Initially, this approach was planned only for testing to evaluate the difference in responses and their quality. However, after completing the testing phase and receiving positive feedback from the team, it was decided to keep both modes. This allows for a more comprehensive approach to the problem.

Plans for Improving Connor

In the future, our team plans to implement a number of important improvements to expand the functionality of the chat assistant.

References to Original Sources

We plan to add a function that will allow the bot to provide links to specific pages from the Knowledge Base on which the answer was formed. This will give users the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the complete information on the topic of the query.

Search Through Internal Documentation

Connor will be able to search through newage documentation, responding to queries such as:

  • “How many sick/vacation days do I have left?”
  • “What is the password for [email]?”
  • “Provide a link to the [name] template”

Integration with Google Drive

There are plans to implement a search function through Google Drive, for example, for queries like “provide a link to the [name] training.” This is a more complex task due to the non-unified file structure, but theoretically possible.

Interaction with data tables

The possibility of giving Connor the ability to work with tables is being considered. Users will be able to provide a link to a table and ask the bot to modify it (replace values, change structure) or have a system with standard files, for example, a vacation calendar, where it will be possible to send requests such as “mark remote work for me on Thursday and Friday.”

Automation of Work Processes

In the near future, the ability to launch automated scripts through Connor will be implemented. For example, if traffic managers need to update data in a dashboard after making changes to the plan, instead of contacting the technical team, they will be able to independently launch an entire update and validation system through the bot. In addition, there are plans to implement the possibility of automatic campaign setup in Campaign Manager (CM) — the traffic manager simply uploads an online plan, and Connor launches a script that automatically creates a campaign in CM according to the plan.

Feedback

To further improve Connor, a Google form has been created where each employee can leave detailed feedback and suggestions for improving the assistant’s functionality.

The implementation of technological solutions such as Connor is an important step towards automating the internal processes of newage. and increasing the efficiency of the entire team.
